Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010 - Process and Implications

Dr. Thomas Pearson, professor of Community and Preventive Medicine at The University of Rochester Medical Center, presents Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010 - Process and Implications. The presentation describes the process that the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) used to develop its recommendations. Dr. Pearson was a member of the DGAC.

Please note Dr. Pearson does not present the 2010 Dietary Guidelines, which were not released at the time of his presentation.

During this 56-minute audio-visual cyber-presentation, Dr. Pearson reviews the history of the Dietary Guidelines, explains the process of reviewing evidence for the new guidelines, and discusses how the Guidelines might impact the health of the US population.
