  1. Discuss selected topics related to breastfeeding requiring special attention during IYCF situation analysis
  2. Discuss major considerations for prioritizing and designing interventions to improve breastfeeding
  3. Discuss issues related to effective implementation of selected breastfeeding interventions

  1. State the core and optional updated indicators for breastfeeding
  2. Explain an IYCF area graph and its potential uses
  3. Describe the elements of situation assessment for breastfeeding
  4. List the factor that may influence mothers’ breastfeeding practices
  5. Discuss the main challenges to breastfeeding programmes
  6. State the six main interventions for breastfeeding and the main considerations for their prioritization
  7. Identify the key issues related to effective implementation of the Code and maternity protection legislation
  8. Describe and justify an alternative approach to improving maternity breastfeeding practices
  9. Understand the process of developing an evidence-based, comprehensive and continuous communication strategy at all levels, including key “do’s and don’ts”
